Cozy and casual Korean restaurant. The staff is friendly and personable. We enjoyed the complimentary banchan which included kimchi, fish cake, spicy potato, broccoli with gochujang, spicy soybean sprout. We got the Grilled Mackerel with Bean Paste Soup and the Beef Short Rib Soup. The mackerel was super filling and delicious. I wished ours came with lemon.. we asked for some, but they didn't have any so they gave us lime LOL I didn't care for the bean paste soup. It's just fine, but honestly a bit too savoury for me. I liked the beef soup since it felt hearty and had good flavor. I liked the vegetables and wished there were more glass noodles. The beef was a bit too tough for my liking.

A nice, no frills, comfort food kind of restaurant. The parking lot is quite small, but we didn't have issues getting a spot. Their menu has some great staple options as well as bbq! (You have to order at least 2 meats to do the bbq) We tried the seafood casserole and bulgogi over rice. The casserole portion is more than enough for 3 people - we definitely had a lot of leftovers. The flavors were all great and the meal comes with complementary hot tea!

Don't pass up on Nak Won, as this place serves up one of the best thick-cut pork belly in the DC metro area - for those who don't consume pork or are not into pork belly, there are plenty of other options on the menu to still have a tasty meal. They have jungols (casseroles), lunch specials, soups and stews, as well as seasonal specials (like nengmyun). We came here for dinner, and we ordered: +fresh thick-cut pork belly (minimum order of 2) +oh jing uh bokkeum - spicy stir-fried squid Their banchans are pretty good, especially the gamja jorim (stewed spicy potatoes) - yum! Great with a bowl of rice. Hot boricha (barley tea) and/or iced tap water is served, and you can request for both. Service is friendly and pretty efficient; the meats are cooked perfectly, and if you want your meats to be a bit more crispier, just ask! There's some spots in the front, but there's a lot in the rear of the building, too; getting in and out can be a little bit of a pain, especially during rush hour/peak times. +fresh thick-cut pork belly +friendly service +parking in rear

We ordered a couple of different dishes to try out. It was a hot day in the area so the cold noodles were bomb af! My partner had ordered the spicy noodles and I honestly wish I had ordered the spicy one since it was a little more flavorful. Overall, great place to hit the spot.

For 2 people, we ordered 1 order of pork belly and 1 order of beef brisket. Their menu says a minimum 2 orders for bbq but if you kindly ask them, they'll most likely let you do half half for 2 orders with different meats like we did. The meat quality for both was very fresh and they were cooked very well, also very promptly after we ordered everything. The assortment of banchan (side dishes) paired well with the meats. I especially like how they offer sliced garlic and jalapeños that I have come to like grilled in my pork belly lettuce wraps with kimchi and a dollop of soy bean paste. In addition, my craving for sour/savory foods led me to also order kimchi jjigae (kimchi hotpot) and a naengmyun (cold broth noodle) on the side. There were big slices of tofu in their kimchi soup but I personally wished they were chopped into smaller, bite-sized cubes. Soup itself was still very good though. For the cold broth noodle, I like to douse mine in vinegar so I was able to adjust the flavor to my liking. It was very refreshing to slurp in between wraps of bbq, very palate-cleansing and spurs my appetite even more!

Overall, the food was a 3.5/5 but will bump it to a 4/5 for the following reasons: - the server was kind enough to chase after me to give me my forgotten purse - the promising KBBQ quality after smelling the pork belly of another table during my entire meal In general, a lot of their menu items seems to be vegetarian - bibimbap, soondubu, naengmyeon, etc. - which explains why it's so cheap compared to other restaurants. Regardless, even the options with meat are reasonable given the supply chain issues and COVID-19 inflations. Nak Won gives out a good amount of banchan that are all staples - spicy potatoes, fish cakes (these were super tasty and I should have asked for more), kimchi (on the more sour side but still good), beansprouts (a classic that I love), and cabbage (? not sure what this one was but a bit under-seasoned). BULGOGI OVER RICE - 14.99 My friend and I both decided to get this since it was the most appealing option to us. Overall, it was just OK. There was a good amount of onions and peppers. Now, I normally stay away from onions, but Nak Won actually made them pretty tasty without the weird onion "crunch" that I dislike so I ate some of them! The bulgogi was shredded super small and thin so it was hard to taste much of the charred flavor. Still, I could taste the sweetness from the marinade. In general, there wasn't much meat in the rice so that was disappointing. I wouldn't get this again at Nak Won since there are other restaurants in the area that make it better. Sadly, their KBBQ meats is a minimal of two orders, which my friend and I could not do by ourselves. I hear they have the best pork belly in the area, so in the future, I'll come back with a bigger group to give the KBBQ a try!

Good food good service. I definitely recommend their galbi and naengmyun. I love spicy naengmyun so I usually get bibim Naengmyun. But Nak won also have spicy cold soup Naengmyun which is really spicy and really flavorful. yummy! As for the galbi, you can grill the meat in front of you while you eat but we asked them to have the galbi cooked in their kitchen for us. The meat was cooked grilled perfectly and the marinade on the meat tasted good. Service is good and can get slow at times if the restaurant gets busy, just get their attention if you need something. Everyone is friendly.
